Tonight Myotai told a story. It seems there was a young Zen student who was on a journey. She traveled far; and at last she came to a wide river that seemed impossible to cross. As she was wondering how she would ever get to the other side, she spotted a Zen master meditating on the opposite bank.
“Oh Wise One!” she called out, raising her voice to be heard at such a great distance. “How can I get to the other side of this river?”
The Zen master looked up and slowly, slowly, gazed first upstream, and then down. At last she spoke:
“Daughter,” she yelled back to her. “You ARE on the other side!”

Or, in the immortal words of Gilda Radner: “Wherever you go, there you are!”

You are at the door. Will you cross the threshold?
And how will you do it?
