The French Pope and the Hot-Air Balloon

Last Sunday was the second day of Taste of France in Bryant Park. It was fantastic: at least the food and wine were!

Then a (tethered) hot-air balloon went up, with a man in white in it. I yelled, “It’s the Pope!” and everyone around me took up the chant: “The Pope! The Pope!” Who knew? the Pope was going up in a balloon basket in front of the NYC Public Library??

Or, more importantly, do the folks at the Vatican realize that (perhaps) they elected a CHEF to be Pope? (I would: the bread and wine would be fantastic!)

You tell me.
